- Email or phone number (for authentication)
- Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In identifiers
- Name or nickname
- Anonymous group participation (check-ins or support requests)
- Notification preferences
- Check-in responses
- Streak progress
- Relapse logs
- Panic mode entries and grounding task selections
- Onboarding responses (e.g., goals, triggers, motivations)
- AI chat content (Ano)
- Recorded “future you” videos you choose to save
1B. Automatically Collected Information
Through Firebase, Apple, or your device:
- Device type
- Operating system
- Crash logs
- Push notification tokens
- IP-derived only for security (not stored long-term)
Analytics may be added later (you will be informed in policy updates).
1C. Device Permissions & Local Data
The App may request device permissions and store limited data locally to support core features.
- Screen Time or family control permissions to block selected apps during strong urges and reduce access to adult content
- Notification settings and preferences
- Local cache data stored on your device to improve performance
1D. Sensitive Data
The App may collect information related to:
- Porn recovery progress
- Personal motivations
- Relapse details
- Panic mode reflections or entries
- User-submitted emotional reflections
These are user-initiated and used solely to provide the core functionality of the App. We do not sell or share this data for advertising.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Authenticate users
- Maintain your streak
- Provide check-ins and progress tracking
- Match you into anonymous groups and enable group activity
- Power panic mode, grounding tasks, and app blocking
- Power AI chat conversations
- Personalize AI responses using onboarding answers, relapse entries, and panic mode data processed through OpenAI GPT models
- Send notifications you choose to receive (daily reminder, urge support, group activity, milestone)
- Improve app performance
- Detect and prevent abuse
3. Anonymous Group Support
If you join an anonymous group:
- Groups are limited to four people.
- No real names are shared, supporting AA-style anonymity.
- Group members only see the limited information you choose to share.
- We may moderate or remove content to protect safety.
4. AI Chat (OpenAI)
Your chat messages with Ano are:
- Sent to OpenAI for processing
- Combined with your onboarding responses, relapse entries, and panic mode data to tailor GPT-generated answers
- Temporarily stored to maintain conversation context
- Saved in Firestore unless deleted by you
- Used only for app functionality, not for model training unless you opt-in (default: opt-out)
We do not send identifiers that directly link your identity to OpenAI.
5. Third-Party Services
Quit Anonymous uses:
- Firebase Auth
- Firebase Firestore
- Firebase Storage
- Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Apple Sign In
- Google Sign In
- OpenAI (AI chat)
Each provider has its own privacy practices.
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account in Settings, your data is deleted immediately with no delay or recovery.

7. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures through Firebase and our providers, but no system is 100% secure. Users are responsible for not sharing sensitive information unnecessarily.
8. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the App.
9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Friendly)
You may:
- Request access to your data
- Request correction
- Delete your account immediately in Settings
- Opt-out of data storage for AI chats
- Download or export your data in Settings
- Clear local cache data in Settings
- Withdraw consent
